#8 Go easy on the grease
Be conservative when re-seasoning pans after each use. Using too much oil can result in a sticky residue. Once you apply oil, you’ll want to wipe off all of it so only the thinnest layer remains. If stickiness sets in, put the cast iron in an oven at 500° and let it bake for 1 hour. The sticky residue should polymerize and become part of the finish. If it’s still sticky, stripping your skillet and starting the pan’s finish from scratch may be the best option.
