Coated in fresh citrus and a medley of warm spices, these caramelized Honey-Bourbon Peaches will even elevate store-bought pound cake for a quick and easy dessert.
Honey-Bourbon Peaches
Makes 4 to 6 servings
Ingredients
- 4 fresh peaches, halved, pitted, and sliced into ½-inch-thick wedges (about 1¾ pounds)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Pound cake and sweetened whipped cream, to serve
- Garnish: chopped pecans
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine peaches, lemon juice, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a 10-inch skillet, heat butter and brown sugar over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar and butter are melted, about 5 minutes. Add peach mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly caramelized, 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Add bourbon and honey; cook until reduced and coats the back of a spoon, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Serve with pound cake and whipped cream. Garnish with pecans, if desired.
